About Samoa

Apia has several international hotels and a good selection of moderate and budget priced accommodation. Outside Apia, Deluxe resort accommodation can be found at Maninoa, Siumu on beautiful beaches of the southern coast of Upolu Island as well as the new Aggie Grey’s Lagoon, Beach Resort & Spa at Mulifanua, on the western end of Upolu Island.

New hotels have opened at Aufaga village in the Lotofaga district and at Manono uta, and soon at Vavau in Lotofaga, where the Warwick Hotel will be built. Elsewhere, including Savaii Island, more accommodations are built, and they vary from smaller hotels to traditional beach fales.

Beach Fales offer the budget conscious and those searching for something different, an authentic Samoan experience. Traditional open beach fales with thatched roofs are located throughout the islands with mattresses, linen and mosquito nets included in the rates. Many also offer meals. Although basic, this type of accommodation brings the visitor closer to the traditional Samoan way of life.

My Samoa Tours is a good place to find more information regarding accommodation and activities, with brochures available, and knowledgeable staff on hand to answer questions. My Samoa Tours can also help arrange for interested persons to stay with a Samoan family in a village and experience the real ‘Fa’a Samoa’.

My Samoa Tours can also give you advice on protocol in villages and in families and how to respect customs when you stay at such places.
